Aamir Khan, who attended Karan Johar’s chat show Coffee with Karan 7 with Laal Singh Chaddha co-star Kareena Kapoor, also spoke about her family during the show among other things. Speaking about his relationship with ex-wives Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao, the actor said, “We all get together once a week, no matter how busy we are. There’s a lot of attention, sincere love and respect for one another.” Aamir Khan added during the broadcast: “I have the highest regard and respect for both of them. Hum log hamesha parivar he rahenge (We will always be a family).”

Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao, who have been married for 15 years, announced their split in a statement last July. The actor married Kiran Rao in 2005 and they welcomed their son Azad in 2011, who they continue to co-parent. Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao met on the set of River, where Kiran served as assistant director. Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao also worked together on the actor’s next project Laal Singh Chaddhawhich Kiran Rao co-produced.

Aamir Khan was previously married to Reena Dutta, with whom he has two children. Ira, the younger of Aamir Khan’s two children with his first wife Reena Dutta, made her directorial debut with a theatrical adaptation of Euripides. Medea, which starred Hazel Keech in the lead role.
