“The past few years have been a blur of emotions to say the least, but joy once again filled our home and our hearts,” Teigen wrote as she announced the happy news on social media. “1 billion shots later (in the leg lately, as you can see!) we have another one on the way. I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of a date with more excitement than nervousness, but so far everything is perfect and beautiful and I feel hopeful and amazing. Ok phew it’s been very hard to keep it up for so long!”

Legend, who married Teigen in September 2013, reposted the post.

Teigen was equally open about her unending grief for Jack in a heartbreaking essay she wrote for Medium in October 2020.

“I asked the nurses to show me her hands and feet and I kissed them again and again and again,” Teigen recalled moments after giving birth. “I have no idea when I stopped. It could have been 10 minutes or an hour.”

“There are a lot of women and families who have fertility issues, and I don’t think anyone should be ashamed of needing help sometimes. And I think Chrissy has done a good job of destigmatizing some of those things that so many people experience in silence,” he said. “Whether it’s IVF or other fertility issues, whether it’s losing a pregnancy, I think we both thought it was good for us to share that with other people because other people are going through it too, we don’t think they should suffer in silence not knowing that there are other people who are feeling the same.”
